Actor Alec Baldwin has donated a million big ones to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts for the Alec Baldwin Drama Scholarship Fund beginning in 2010.Alec graduated from the school in 1994 and the new scholarship fund will offer assistance to students with "work ethic, development of leadership skills, willingness to collaborate, the ability to tolerate risk, and the capacity to work with constructive criticism."
Additionally students must be in good academic standing with demonstrated financial need. Special consideration will be given to those from economically disadvantaged families or who are the first members of their family to attend university. Baldwin says of Tisch:

"The support I got from Tisch made it possible for me to become an actor and to have a career in this business. It's important to give back to those institutions that give us such opportunities, and I encourage anyone to look into supporting their alma mater."
What a generous gesture!

And it's so important to support the arts!
