Coleen Nolan

Coleen Nolan refused to let a broken wrist get in the way as she managed to survive another week in dancing on Ice last night.

Despite coming bottom of the leader-board with a score of 18.5 out of 30, she was still saved by the viewer vote as Zoe Salmon became the latest star to get the boot.

The 43-year-old slipped on the ice while practising a difficult dance move during training with partner Stuart Widdall on Friday.

After landing heavily on her left hand, Coleen immediately received medical treatment for the injury which left her in some considerable pain.

The Loose Woman presenter was taken to hospital where she was diagnosed with a fracture to a small bone under her thumb called the scaphoid.

But she still bravely glided onto the ice to perform last night.

Despite not being able to do the required element - an unassisted jump - she was praised by the judges for making it onto the ice.

She performed to Shirley Bassey's Diamonds Are Forever with skating partner Stuart Widdall and scored 18.5, receiving a mark of four from judge acid-tongued judge Jason Gardiner.

Speaking about the fall before last night's live show, she said: 'I knew I’d done something bad when I hit the floor - the pain was excruciating,' she told the Daily Mirror.

'I am devastated that this has happened so close to what is my biggest routine yet.

'I am in some pain but nothing is going to keep me off that ice tonight. I can't let my kids down, or the amazing public who have been supporting me.

'I'll give it my best shot.'

She added: 'I haven't told my daughter yet because she's so excited to be there on Sunday. I only hope she's not disappointed. I hope I can do it for her.

Last week Emmerdale actress Roxanne Pallett and her dance partner Dan Whiston were voted off the show.

Coleen came last with the lowest number of points from the judges but was saved by the public vote.
