The Grammy Awards were so boring last night that I slept until just now to get up and write this piece on it. Seriously, it started off with a bang when Lady Gaga and Elton John fired up their dueling pianos to kick the show off.

Stephen Colbert presented first and made a mockery of the entire celebrity culture and music industry. Rumor has it that he wasn’t that well received, but I thought it was genius.

Then, for the rest of the night, there were more boring performances, one after another after another. Beyonce started off nicely, but ended up butchering Alanis Morissette’s song, “You Oughtta Know”.

For the entire duration of the show, which ran three-and-a-half hours, we got nine winners announced. NINE!

* Song of the year: Beyonce – Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)
* Best country album: Taylor Swift – Fearless
* Best new artist: Zac Brown Band
* Best comedy album: Stephen Colbert – The Greatest Gift Of All
* Record of the year: Kings Of Leon – Use Somebody
* Best rock album: Green Day – 21st Century Breakdown
* Best rap/sung collaboration: Jay-Z, Rihanna & Kanye West – Run This Town
* Best female vocal performance: Beyonce – Halo
* Album of the year: Taylor Swift – Fearless

Boring and awful! And we all know that Taylor Swift shouldn’t have beaten out Lady Gaga or Beyonce for Album Of The Year. Gaga was robbed.

What did you think? Did you watch?
