Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston may have long left the show that made her famous. But she has not let go of her close friendship with Friends co-star Courteney Cox.

The former Friends actress, 41, made a low-profile appearance in Hollywood last night to see Courteney, 45, honoured with an award for her work in television.

Eschewing the red carpet hoopla, Jennifer slipped into the event unnoticed to cheer on Cox at Women in Film’s 2010 Crystal + Lucy Awards held at the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza in California last night.

Still my best Friend: Jennifer Aniston made a surprise appearance in Hollywood last night to see her friend Courteney Cox honoured for her TV work

Both dressed in classic LBD's, the friends enjoyed a girly hug, and a youthful looking Courteney looked happy to have Jennifer on hand.

Husband David Arquette, 38, also showed his support for his wife of ten years, as the couple posed up on the red carpet together.

The couple, who have a daughter Coco, 5, together - Aniston is Coco's godmother - will soon celebrate 11 years of marriage.

The pair have recently weathered reports of a rift after rumours that the Cougar Town actress had grown close to her Cougar Town co-star Brian Van Holt.

Courteney has refused to dignify the reports with a comment, and they certainly looked happy enough together last night.

The actress was surrounded by her closest friends at the event which saw her win her first ever award at the annual event, including Cougar Town co-star Busy Phillips, Judd Apatow and wife Leslie Mann.

Aniston flew back from Hawaii where she has been shooting new film Just Go With It with Adam Sandler, and swimsuit model Brooklyn Decker, and made a quiet entrance to the star-studded event.

So low, in fact, that few people at the dinner even realised the actress was there.

Dressed in a simple black dress with her favourite strappy black heels and sporting a shorter, new haircut, Jennifer enjoyed the evening and the company of her friends - and didn’t even show up on the event's big screen once.

'Jen wanted this to be Court’s night…she won The Crystal Award here last year.

'Tonight she really didn’t want any attention. She slipped in after the red carpet was pretty much packed up and sat down at the table next to Isla Fisher.

'She sneaked away before the show wrapped up — she was really keeping a low-profile.'

A source said: 'Jen came tonight completely and utterly to support her best friend.

During her acceptance speech, the long-time BFFs made eye contact and Jen clapped enthusiastically from her front row table, with her hands high in the air.

'She was so proud of Courteney. They’ve been friends forever and she just wanted to be here for her when she accepted her first award,' the source told HollywoodLife.com.

Meanwhile Jennifer's Rachel hair-do has become the most popular hairstyle of all time and remains the most requested till date, according to a study by the hair company Goody.

Goody says that the golden locks of Jennifer-character Rachel Green in the sitcom remains her most popular role so far.

Second in the competition is Meg Ryan’s short bob in the 1993 flick Sleepless in Seattle. And Australian Dannii Minogue’s brunette bob came in third place.
