Katherine Heigl

It's not always easy getting it right on the red carpet as Katherine Heigl found last night.

The 31-year-old actress was not quite up to par when she made an appearance at the screening of her new movie Killers at the The Arclight Cinema on West Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood.

Her hair had gone awry with a failed attempt at curling her brunette locks into a Shirley Temple-style do.

This, combined with a see-through white blouse, a layered puff skirt and a garish pink belt, left the actress pulling off a red carpet fail.

Miss Heigl is often on the ball with her public appearances, so this could be considered to be a minor blip for the former Grey's Anatomy star.

Other guests at the screening included lead actor in the film Ashton Kutcher and his wife Demi Moore, Tom Selleck and singer Macy Gray.

Kutcher takes the lead role in the film, wearing an all-black ensemble (including a bow tie) he was accompanied by his wife who looked great in a fitted floor length night blue dress, pulled in with a belt.

The film follows Kutcher's character Spencer, a former superspy who has given up his double life to settle down with Jen (played by Katherine Heigl).

However, on his 30th birthday he learns that he has a multi-million dollar contract out on his life and the assassins have been following him and his wife for two years.

A paranoia-fuelled game of cat and mouse between the couple and the unknown hired killers ensues, with Spencer and Jen trying to maintain their marriage and a sense of normality while trying to work who wants him dead and why.

Meanwhile, Katherine Heigl has revealed that she is planning to have another baby.

She adopted nine-month-old adopted daughter Naleigh, with her husband Josh Kelley, last year and has admitted they hope to have another child in the near future after witnessing the thousands of children orphaned by the earthquake in Haiti.

Katherine told Germany's Gala magazine: 'We would like to have a second child - adopted or biological. We're not ruling it out.

'Just look at Haiti. They're so many parentless children. It breaks my heart. I want to help.'
