Antonia Graham and Nadean Moses claim Miss Perroncel, 33, was 'sad and lonely' following her break-up from Bridge, Terry's close friend and England team-mate.
Terry, 29, phoned Miss Perroncel last July as she and Bridge, 29, were breaking up and pledged his help to get them reunited, saying they were a 'great couple', according to the Sunday Mirror.
But the England captain quickly turned from comforter to lover as the two embarked on a four-month relationship.
Vanessa Perroncel leaving a friend's house in Surrey yesterday: Two friends have come forward to reveal how her four-month affair with John Terry began
'Vanessa was sad and lonely. John was playing the caring friend,' Miss Graham, 29, told the newspaper.
'He called Vanessa up. Vanessa told me, "John is being the peacemaker. He said Wayne and I are great together".'
Miss Graham said that Terry's offer to play Cupid comforted Miss Perroncel, who had believed her and Bridge would never split.
Following Bridge's £10million transfer to Manchester City from Chelsea last January, the couple lived with their three-year-old son Jaydon in a suite in the five-star Lowry Hotel in Salford.
But after six months of trying to find a home in the North-West and with their relationship beginning to falter, Vanessa returned to Oxshott, Surrey, where Terry and his wife Toni, 28, were neighbours.
No kiss and tell: Miss Perroncel lets Max Clifford do the talking last week
According to Miss Graham and Miss Moses, it was only two weeks later that the Chelsea skipper made his first visit to Miss Perroncel's home to offer his 'comfort and support'.
Soon after, Terry seduced Miss Perroncel and their friendship developed into a passionate affair.
'He would pop round a couple of times a week, offering a shoulder to cry on,' said Miss Moses, 32, who has known Vanessa for eight years. 'He brought DVDs for her son.'
Miss Perroncel and Terry were always cautious of not being seen outside the house together and Terry would carefully park his Bentley or Range Rover out of sight.
John Terry has been sacked as England captain following his affair with Miss Perroncel
Despite Miss Perroncel gaining the reputation of a home-wrecker, Miss Graham and Miss Moses are adamant that this could not be further from the truth.
They say she has lost half a stone and is unable to eat or sleep since news of the affair broke.
All the problems date back to Bridge's transfer, said Miss Graham. 'Footballers are away a lot of the time and she felt a bit isolated.
'Vanessa put her whole life into that relationship with Wayne. She was devastated when they split.'
However, Miss Perroncel was last night branded a man-eater who used Premier League fixture lists to track down potential lovers.
A source at the heart of her social circle told the News of the World that she was obsessed with dating footballers, especially Chelsea players.
Miss Perroncel would check fixture lists to see which teams would be out on the town.
If the London clubs were playing at home she would make sure she was at the right nightspots to meet them, according to the newspaper.
Despite refusing to sell her story, Terry allegedly paid Miss Peroncel £750,000 to keep quiet.
The former nightclub hostess appeared on television with Max Clifford last week to say she would not do a 'kiss and tell' story, but it was the PR guru who did all the talking.
As Miss Perroncel's statement was being read by Mr Clifford, it emerged Terry had lost the England captain's armband following a 12-minute meeting with manager Fabio Capello.
Bridge also voiced his anger on the day of Terry's sacking, telling Mr Capello he had 'lost all respect' for his fellow World Cup defender.
Bridge and Miss Perroncel are also reported to have had a series of furious rows over money.
The Manchester City star last night told The News of the World that rather the reported 'amicable reunion' between him and Miss Perrconcel turned into a 'blazing row'.
According to the newspaper, Bridge blasted her for allowing Terry round while his son was in their Surrey house.
