Natasha Henstridge has been sporting a more voluptuous look in recent months and has spoken of her struggle to stay slim, but last night it seemed that her hard work had paid off.

The Species star, who split from former Pop Idol star Darius Campbell two months ago, revealed a slimmed down frame as she attended a QVC pre-Oscar Party.

Dressed in a figure hugging navy blue dress and black heels, the 34-year-old seemed pleased with her new look and happily posed for the cameras.

It comes just months after Henstridge, who is engaged to former Pop Idol star Darius Danesh, admitted that she was struggling to regain the size 8 shape that gained her an army of admirers.

However she said that she embraced a healthier approach to her body after years of taking diet pills.

'My body’s definitely gone through a change since coming off all the crazy yo-yo stuff,' says the actress in reference to her more curvaceous figure.

[My] metabolism’s changing a little, that’s for sure!'

The mother of two (Tristan River Waite, 10, and Asher Sky Waite, 7, by actor Liam Waite) also spoke of the pressure to be thin in Hollywood and the long term damage she's done to her body.

She says: 'There’s always pressure in this business to stay thin to the degree that I’ve done some things that probably weren’t the smartest things in the world.'

'I’ve probably taken some pills that are taken off the market these days, that were like, ‘Oh, but it just gives me an extra boost when I’m working out,' and it seems innocent enough and it’s over the counter.

'Those things have a huge effect on your metabolism and all of a sudden, when you decide to go clean and healthy, things are changing in your body because you’ve done a little bit of damage.

'I’ve been to Chinese herbalists who’ve given me things.

'When you’re doing some things that are damaging you, you don’t really realise it at the time. You think it’s innocent and healthy - Chinese herbs.

'That sounds healthy and then you realise, what the hell is in the stuff?

'And people glamorise the whole thing because you’re thinner and you’ve been doing this [bad] stuff to your body.'

She now keeps active with mountain biking and boot camp sessions and is also said to have started a rigorous exercise regime with a personal trainer at her gym.
