American Idol has just stumbled upon their new judge, who will be replacing Simon Cowell next year. Guess who? Naah leave it! You probably haven’t heard his name but have heard is music. He is the man behind the success of numerous bands like U2, Simple Minds, Talking Heads, Psychedelic Furs, Morrissey, Dave Matthews Band and Phish.

And, we present you Steve Lillywhite! Not that much of an impact when you hear the name eh? But don’t you dare draw conclusions yet. The Grammy-winning Lillywhite has got the humor to make you giggle, the musical sense to give you America’s next big singer and most importantly a great accent.

The English music producer is also set produce Evanescence’s upcoming album which is due to be released fall, 2010. Boy I m excited about it.

He knows the fact that being behind the screen for 30 years hasn’t really personally helped him get popular. Perhaps that is the reason for him to take on YouTube by storm, where he tries to explain what he could bring to the talent show.

With Cowell off for his UK base reality show “X Factor” next year, what can be better than another Brit stepping into his boots?
