Miss Gillan, who plays Amy Pond in the BBC sci-fi drama, was at the ceremony which honours those who work behind the scenes in TV.
She gave out the award for best break-through talent - perhaps a prize she could win herself for her role alongside new doctor, Matt Smith.

The ceremony held at the Park Lane Hilton, now in its 11th year, was hosted by another star of TV, Christine Bleakley, 31.
Coronation Street's production team received a special award ahead of the soap's 50th birthday later this year.
Channel 4 drama Mo, starring Julie Walters as the late MP Mo Mowlam, won three awards, including Best Director (Fiction), Best Editing (Fiction) and Best Make-Up and Hair Design.

Simon Cowell's The X Factor was also named Best Entertainment Production Team, while BBC drama Small Island picked up Best Original Television Music.
Other stars at last night's awards included Life On Mars actress Joanne Froggatt and Skins actress Kaya Scodelario.
Showing off her figure in a little black dress, Scodelario, 18, put on a public display of affection with her boyfriend, Shameless actor Elliott Tittensor.
