After losing his Parliamentary seat Lembit Opik could be expected to spend some time licking his wounds.

Instead the former Liberal Democrat MP for Montgomeryshire looked particularly pleased with himself as he went for a walk in London yesterday.

Perhaps it had something to do with the stunning former Wonderbra model on his arm.

For despite denying they were a couple, 45-year-old Lembit seemed very close to Katie Green.

The LibDem and the 5ft10in underwear model were spotted strolling down South Bank yesterday.

The pair first met at a cocktail party last July and claimed to have enjoyed a string of dinners 'at little wine bars' - though some dismissed their relationship as a publicity stunt.

The model, a curvy size 12, appeared in a Wonderbra campaign but was dropped because, she claimed, she had refused to cave in to pressure to lose weight.

She then signed with rival firm Ultimo but was sacked after topless pictures of her appeared in a tabloid newspaper.

Lembit previously dated the Cheeky Girl's Gabriela Irimia.

At the time, 22-year-old Katie said: 'Lembit's very charming and witty. I can see why Gabriela found him attractive.'

After months of speculation surrounding their relationship, Opik announced he was single in November.

But it seems that post-election the two may have reconsidered the situation.
