The mother-of-four and occasional cookbook writer, who has struggled with her performances over the past week, said she'd had a 'fantastic' time skating with professional partner Stuart Widdall.
All five judges opted to save former Coronation Street Danny over Tana because she was the weaker skater.
Farewell: Tana Ramsay said she's had a 'fantastic' time skating with partner Stuart Widdall as they were voted off Dancing On Ice
Judge Nicky Slater said: 'Tana, it was fun and you make me smile, but you're not strong enough to stay in the competition.'
Her husband, celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay was seen looking emotional from the audience as his wife graciously accepted defeat.
The 35-year-old said: 'I've had such a fantastic, fantastic time. I'm going to miss skating with Stuart. I'm exhausted.
'(My favourite bits were) the training and the challenge of it all. Stuart has the patience of a saint.'
Earlier in the show, Tana and Stuart scored a disappointing 12, despite the judges agreeing she had put a lot more personality into her performance than her previous week.
Dressed in a baby pink cropped halterneck and mini-skirt, Tana looked more comfortable than last week as she performed to Abba's hit Waterloo for the Seventies-themed week.
After being cruelly labelled a 'frigid schoolmistress' by judge Jason Gardiner last week, Tana was much more expressive and smiled throughout the dance.
Nicky said: ' I agree you had a breakthrough in your smile and personality. To put it over on the ice was super. It’s a little delicate on the ice for me - but it needs more speed and more attack.'
Tense: Tana and Stuart were voted off after the judges saved former Coronation Street actor Danny Young and Frankie Poultney

New judge Emma Bunton, who appeared to be given more camera time than the rest of the panel, said: 'I think we’re expecting much more each week, and that’s why the score reflects that. I want to say I really admire you - you’ve never danced before or performed in front of an audience.'
Despite being in the middle of the leader board with 17.0, Danny and his partner Frankie Poultney were disappointed to be in the skate-off.
Earlier, the professional skater clashed with the show's Mr Nasty Jason after he made a cutting comment about their dance to Dr Hook's When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman.
Fight for survival: Danny and Frankie ended up in the skate-off, despite receiving 17 points from the judges
He said: 'There were moments where you were great, but with moments you were not so great. You were like a bulldog with a bone - no offence Frankie.
'Take more care with your dismounts, particularly from your lifts. But - you are improving.'
A visibly angry Frankie hit back: 'I don't see how calling someone a bulldog with a bone is constructive criticism to the performance Jason.'
Jason also managed to upset Olympian swimmer Sharron Davies with another offensive comment.
Presenter Holly Willoughby looked visibly disgusted as Jason said: 'This is also about performance, and yours stays on one level.
Hovering: Sharron Davies holds on to partner Pavel Aubrecht for dear life
'In your brown costume, it was like watching faecal matter before it’s flushed. It just goes round and round.'
Sharron admitted her confidence had taken a blow after she ended up in the skate-off for the second time last week.
Despite a shaky start to the week, Sharron put on a good performance in her racy brown leotard to Carole King's classic You've Got A Friend.
Sharron and her partner Pavel Aubrecht received a total of 15 and positive feedback from Nicky: 'The music suited you and there was a softer feel. I did get quality. You can extend more with your arms. That was a real step up for me.'
Controversy: Jason Gardiner shocked Holly Willoughby when he described Sharron's performance as like 'faecal matter before it’s flushed'
Unimpressed: Sharron and her partner Pavel don't look happy
Karen Barber agreed: 'It was a really polished performance. The elements were solid. There's a real quality that's starting to come out now.'
Languishing at the bottom of this week's leader board was Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack and Fred Palascak with a dismal 10.5 for their dance to Baccara's Yes Sir I Can Boogie.
Robin Cousins gave her a surprisingly high mark and felt the need to explain why: 'I was a little bit carried away, because this is the first time I’ve seen you go out there and attack it.
'You’re the first person to make the full turn tonight, but your basic skating skills are much stronger.'
Not so red hot: Inbetweeners actress Emily Atack and Fred Palascak received 10.5 - their lowest score yet
Emma added: 'It was messy, it was unsteady. Fred was dragging you around.'
Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson fared a little better as he and partner Brianne Delacourt received 15 for their set to Play That Funky Music by Wild Cherry.
Robin said: 'Every week is different. You were on the button with the music. Tough when you’re working with a partner who has the presence Brianne has.
'Not as good as last week.'
Jason added the cutting comment: 'It wasn’t enjoyable to watch.'
Neon-tastic: Kieron Richardson and Brianne Delacourt were impossible to miss in their bright outfits
Boyzone singer Mikey Graham bounced back from an injured back to do an impressive dance to Simon & Garfunkel's Cecilia.
He scored a 20.5 - his highest of the series so far and received positive comments from Jason: 'I thoroughly enjoyed that - it was playful, it was kinky, you told a story, there's a great connection between you and partner.
'You sometimes sabotage yourself with your arms by taking them too far out of your control range.'
Heather Mills had also had a difficult week and had lost valuable training time as she struggled to get used to her new leg.
All white on the night: Anti-landmine campaigner Heather Mills wore a skimpy outfit for her performance with Matt Evers
Flying high: Matt lifts Heather in the air
Weeks of ice skating has meant she has lost weight, so she needed to get a smaller prosthetic leg fitted.
Looking distinctly Lady GaGa-esque in her big white pants and skimpy cropped top, Heather started off shakily, but soon got into her stride.
After performing to The Emotions' Best Of My Love with partner Matt Evers, the couple received a 12.5.
Judge Karen said: 'You sold the routine. The beginning was slightly mismatched but you brought it back.'
Struggling: Dr Hilary Jones and his partner Alexandra Shauman
As the oldest contestant in the show, GMTV's Dr Hilary Jones is still struggling.
He performed to Neil Diamond's Sweet Caroline with his partner Alexandra Schauman and scored 11.5.
While judges Jason and Nicky though he was improving, former Spice Girl Emma disagreed.
Jason said: 'It's not v good. You're improving very very slightly but not enough. You've got tight and restrictive shoulders.'
Emma said: 'Your posture was a bit better. It feels like you've gone back a couple of weeks.'
Flying high: Danniella Westbrook and skating partner Matthew Gonzalez
Lift me up: Danniella glides around the ice in the strong arms of Matthew
One of the night's best performances was from EastEnders' Danniella Westbrook and Matthew Gonzalez to Chic's disco classic Le Freak.
The dance featured lots of lifts and turns and scored a 19.5.
Emma said: ' It was steady, it was fun. the lift was fantastic. You're a great performer.'
Robin explained: So much fun and excitement. The relationship is working - I loved it.
'The basic skating skills haven’t improved much, but the overall package is really working in your favour. You did the entire required section on your own, which is really nice.'
High kicks: Former The Bill actor Gary Lucy and his partner Maria Filippov's balancing act impressed the judges
One of the last contestants to find out their fate before the skate-off was The Bill actor Gary Lucy and Maria Filippov.
They scored well with 19 to Easy by Lionel Richie, but all the judges agreed Gary needed to improve his confidence.
Robin said: 'You're one of the best skaters out here, you've got to believe it.'
Karen added: 'The performance is also about the relationsip between you two, and I saw that connection tonight.
The future's bright: Former Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon bends over backward for her partner Daniel Whiston
'The training goes I give you a positive comment, you give me two negatives. I’m trying to convince you that you can be better.'
Last to perform was ex-Emmerdale actress Hayley Tamaddon and partner Daniel Whiston, have been tipped to win this year's series.
They received 23, including a 5.0 from Robin, for their dance to Enough Is Enough, the highest score of the series so far.
Jason said: 'Save the best til last. That was just great. What I love about you Hayley is that it’s disco week and we required a lot of energy and you have more energy than EDF.
'Your weakest point was the required element. You really are our best in the competition.'
