Hayley Tamaddon

After he spent just two days rehearsing for last night's Dancing On Ice, even Boyzone's dedicated fanbase couldn't save Mikey Graham.

The singer was so busy with band commitments that he barely had time to learn his routine, let alone polish it.

And it showed, with him being sent off after coming bottom of the leader board and facing Danniella Westbrook in the skate off.

He skated to bandmate Ronan Keating's track When You Say Nothing At All from the soundtrack to Notting Hill.

'There was something strangely comforting about it, I've heard it so many times,' he said.

But it didn't save him. Despite winning the backing of two judges he was sent home.

Top marks: Hayley Tamaddon won a standing ovation from the awed judges with her Slumdog Millionaire inspired dance

It was a much more successful night for Hayley Tamaddon, who won a standing ovation from the awed judges with her Slumdog Millionaire inspired dance.

The panel even awarded the Emmerdale actress a maximum 30 points.

Robin told her: 'That's the first time we've spontaneously stood up for one of our contestants. It was absolutely on the money, it was fantastic.'

Jason was equally thrilled: 'I want to thank you tonight for coming out there and giving us probably one of the best performances we have ever seen on this show.'

And proving there's more than one way to impress, Danny Young shed his shirt to leave the judges hot under the collar as he performed a Rocky inspired routine.

The 23-year-old Coronation Street star and partner Frankie Poultney entered into the spirit of movie night, with plenty of kicks and lifts.

Judge Emma Bunton told him: You were like a different person this week and for me now you are a contender.'

Even notoriously hard to please judge Jason Gardiner was left breathless by Danny's muscular chest. He told him: 'It was brilliant. Wow. Yeah, that was a good move.'

Danniella Westbrook ended up in the skateoff for a second week in a row.

'It's been quite consuming this week,' she confided.

And there were signs of nerves as Daniella took on the part of Sandy as she performed to Summer Nights with partner Matthew Gonzalez.

Dressed in a baby pink frilled skirt and blouse, she spun around the ice.

But the judges weren't impressed.

Emma told her: 'The solo spin wasn't confident, you didn't really execute it well tonight. Please don't let last week put you off.'

The Bill star Gary Lucy danced to a track from the movie Pulp Fiction.

Nicky Slater gave him five points, telling him: 'Your skating is superb. I love the confidence and the ease of movement over the ice.'

But this sparked a row with Jason, who awarded just three points.

'For me if you had a look there are a lot of timing issues,' he said. 'You started off very well in the style and then you lost it. You didn't keep the character throughout.'

And even when Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield told Jason he'd said enough, he continued to criticise, shouting: 'It's dull, dull dull.'

Hollyoaks actor Kieron Richardson was next on the rink.

Fed up with continual low scores, he threatened to quit if he didn't win more than 20 points.

Luckily for fans, his reinterpretation of the Pink Panther impressed the judges, winning him 21 points.
