Aishwarya Rai

After taking over Bollywood, gorgeous actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan took over Hollywood with a role in the 2009 comedy "The Pink Panther 2." And ever since her crossover to the Western scene, the former Miss World has been invited to one of the world's most prestigious movie events; Cannes Film Festival on the French Riviera.

Last night Ash lit up the red carpet at the premiere of Ridley Scott's "Robin Hood." Wearing an Elie Saab dress from the spring 2010 collection, Aishwarya walked down the red carpet with Hollywood stars like "Desperate Housewives" actress Eva Longoria, Cannes jury member Kate Beckingsale, "Robin Hood" actress Cate Blanchett and Russell Crowe, Jury president Tim Burton and jury member Benicio del Toro.

Ash showed up solo on the red carpet so we guess her hubby Abhishek Bachchan had other things to do than travel to the south of France and enjoy some time in the spotlight! But what could he possibly be up to that is more important than accompanying his wife to this prestigious event?

Well, while Ash walked down the red carpet, Abhi tweeted: "Killed it in the gym!!! And although I'm feeling like Robocop have a sneaky feeling I'm walking like him too! HELP! " So going to the gym is more important than going to the Cannes Film Festival? No, fans don't need to panic; Abhi will show up eventually, he is just busy working, and walking like Robocop, as he tweeted: "its been along day. finally back in my room and ready for some sleep. thanks to all those who sent me photos of the wife at Cannes. couldn't be with her today as i'm filming in istanbul. but will join her there on the 17th to promote Raavan."

We can't wait to see Abhi and Ash bring some Bollywood glam to Cannes, in the meantime, check out these pics of Aishwarya walking the red carpet at the premiere of "Robin Hood" and share your thoughts; hot or not?
