They say that fashion and trends always have a way of coming round full circle.

And Pixie Geldof put that old adage to the test yesterday as she strolled around London listening to her Discman.

While most of us have banished ours to the back of the cupboard and replaced them with iPods or other MP3 players, the young model still seems determined to cling on to hers.

Pixie, 19, was snapped out and about in London yesterday deep in thought as she listened to music on her portable CD player.

And she kept the retro look going as she also donned black 80s-style Ray-Ban Wayfarers, although to be fair to the trend-setter, these are actually making a comeback.

But the clunky Discman - a far cry from the small music players that can now slip inside a pocket - looked really out of date as she clutched it tightly in order, no doubt, to prevent the disc from jumping.

Pixie donned her usual kooky attire and seemed oblivious to the cameras as she walked through the capital.

She looked cute in her daisy print dress which she wore over some fashionable suspender tights, her feet clad in chunky boots.

But despite her short dress, she kept her top half wrapped up warm in not one, but two jackets, her denim one tucked snugly underneath her black biker jacket.

As she walked, she sipped on a healthy fruit smoothie, the cable from her big headphones trailing along next to her.

She has been taking a break from her modelling and has been enjoying spending some time with her older sister Peaches lately as the pair of them teamed up at last month's Coachella festival in Los Angeles.

But she could also be following in her father Bob's footsteps with reports a few weeks ago that she is working with Kylie Minogue and songwriter Cathy Dennis to try to launch herself a music career.
