They say Hollywood is a small town.

So model turned actress Kelly Brook shouldn't have been too surprised when she bumped into ex-boyfriend Jason Statham at a pre-Oscars party last night.

Both Brook and Statham were in attendance at the annual Hollywood Domino Gala at the Beverly Hilton last night.

The ex-couple joined a host of Hollywood stars including Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Camilla Belle, Matt Dillon, Olivier Martinez, director Paul Haggis and socialite Nicky Hilton.

With her current boyfriend Danny Cipriani back in London, Brook, 30, arrived solo in a stunning floor-length black dress.

While the couple weren't pictured together, they were unlikely to miss each other in the hotel bar 210, where the event took place.

Last night's meeting would have marked the first time they were in the same room together since September.

Lock, Stock And Two Smoking Barrels star Statham, 37, was said to have avoided Brook when they both attended the GQ Men Of The Year Awards last September.

Friends of the actor said he was keen to prevent Brook from meeting his new girlfriend Alex Zosman, who was seated with him just a few tables away from the former Big Breakfast presenter.

A source said: 'She looked stunning and Jason was there with his girlfriend - he didn't want the pair meeting.

'Rather than risk an awkward encounter, he didn't sit down for dinner straight away.

'It was a pretty awkward situation. Kelly's name is a no-go with Jason's friends - no reference was made to her being there all night.'

Brook ended her seven year relationship with Statham in 2004 after falling for her Three co-star Billy Zane.

Brook lived with Statham in Los Angeles for the latter part of their relationship.

While Statham is an established Hollywood name with roles in The Transporter franchise and The Bank Job, Brook has failed to repeat his success.

After her films Three and Fishtails went straight-to-DVD, Brook will be hoping her next film, the horror movie Piranha 3-D will be more of a success when it's released this summer.

Meanwhile, mother-of-three Moore, 47, also looked dazzling in a strapless azure blue dress.

Her husband Kutcher, 32, didn't make as much effort however and turned up with paint-spattered jeans and a red checked shirt.

Last night's domino tournament saw celebrities playing the classic game to raise money for the children of Haiti.

Winners from previous years include Charlize Theron, Salma Hayek and Kutcher.
