Parker said of working with her co-stars again: 'We were happy trapped together. We had four dressing rooms, we used one. it was like being back to the very first days.'

Cynthia Nixon, who plays Miranda Hobbs in the film, added a splash of colour in an elegant teal dress with an asymmetric neckline, while Kristin Davis opted for a stylish metallic halterneck dress.

Britain's stars used the premiere to flaunt their sexiest little frocks.

Parker said in an interview with Marie Claire recently: 'When you’re on set, you’re working 90-hour weeks, you’re never home, you’re exhausted, there are times when all of us have been sensitive, and sometimes feelings get hurt. But I don’t have any regrets about how I’ve treated people.'

And Kim Cattrall added: 'Because the press has to put women in these boxes, rather than show them as the movie portrays them: working together and being powerful, things just have to be explosive for no other reason then for people’s imaginations.'

The Sex And The City series drew millions of devotees around the world who followed the ups and downs in the love lives of Carrie, Charlotte, Samantha and Miranda.

Viewers had an insight into their world of Jimmy Choos, cosmopolitan cocktails and rollercoaster relationships for six series, until the show ended in 2004.

It was revived for the big screen in 2008, becoming a huge hit and taking around £288million at the box office.

For the new film the girls spread their wings from Manhattan and head to Abu Dhabi. But the new film has not been an instant hit with reviewers.

However, the negative reviews have not put Parker off making another film to complete the trilogy.

She was quoted earlier this week as saying she 'would love to make Sex and the City 3 in Greece and especially in Mykonos'.
