The 'I Kissed A Girl' singer - whose parents Mary and Keith Hudson are both Christian pastors - reportedly told her fiance, British comedian Russell Brand, she wanted to tie the knot at a location close to her Los Angeles home, but turned down his suggestion of a recording studio at the Sunset Marquis hotel.

A source told the Daily Mirror newspaper: "Russell has been visiting the hotel for years and it is steeped in rock 'n' roll history. It's in the middle of West Hollywood, but it has beautiful gardens and you feel like you are in some kind of tranquil paradise.

"Katy was keen, but when it was suggested they could have their blessing in one of the recording studios, she put her foot down.

Although his request was rejected, 34-year-old Russell - who originally wanted to marry in India, where they got engaged on New Year's Eve (31.12.09) - was not too upset and has told Katy, 25, he is willing to go along with her ideas for her dream day.

Looking at Sharon Stone it's hard to believe that Basic Instinct came out almost 20 years ago.

The actress was 34 years old when the erotic thriller hit the big screens in 1992, 14 years younger than her co-star Michael Douglas.

Stone, who has just celebrated her 52nd birthday, has been lucky enough to retain her youthful looks, Douglas has definitely aged, albeit gracefully.

In a floor-length, strapless black dress with feathered detail from the hips down, Stone could have easily passed for a woman ten years her junior with her soft, dewy skin, firm bust and slender toned arms.

With a hand gripped tightly round his former co-star's waist, Douglas, 65, still had that steely, sexy look about him, but the grey hair and weathered face was a dead give away that he is a pensionable age.

The New York Post even compared them to looking like 'a doting daughter taking her father out for a night on the town as opposed to former on-screen lovers having a red carpet reunion'.

But they just looked like old friends, enjoying a night out together to support a good cause.

Basic Instinct tells the story of Detective Nick Curran (Douglas) investigating the death of a former rock star who was murdered with an ice pick, and gets involved with prime suspect, crime novelist Catherine Tramell (Stone).

It caused a stir when it came out and generated controversy for its steamy sex scenes and graphic violence.

It was also slammed by gay rights groups who protested against the film's alleged stereotypical and homophobic portrayal of homosexuals.

But despite the criticism and controversy surrounding the movie, it became box office smash and remains a cult classic, spawning a sequel, which also starred Stone, but bombed quite badly.

She has recently been staying in New York filmed scenes for upcoming episodes of hit US show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit which will air next month.

Douglas will this year revisit his role as corporate raider Gordon Gekko in Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, the sequel to the 1987 box office hit Wall Street, which is due out in September.

The 'Runaways' actress has reservations about working with her mother Jules Mann-Stewart on new drama 'K-11' but thinks it will be a "cool" project when it is finally given the go ahead.

She said: "She's a really well-known script supervisor and she's co-written this drama 'K-11', which she'll direct and I will be in. If she called me right now and said, 'We're making the movie,' I would be really excited. I guess my question is, 'How would it be to work with a parent?' We're really close and then, at the same time, we're creatively very different. But, I think it would be cool if it happens."

Kristen is best known for her role as Bella Swan in the 'Twilight' movies, in which she stars opposite her boyfriend Robert Pattinson who plays vampire Edward Cullen.

The franchise - based on the best-selling books by Stephenie Meyer - has been a worldwide success, with millions of devoted fans, but although the actress can understand their passion she has never been "obsessed" by anything.

She added to Parade.com: "I've never been so fanatical about something. I never had that thing that I'm obsessed with. But, I've followed things for years like bands and movies and actors. I completely get what they're feeling. Personally, it's just so cool for me to be able to go back and follow a character for so long in successive movies. The fact that fans love them helps give me the chance."

The 'Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps' star is cautious to speak about new lover Carey Mulligan - who he stars with in the financial drama sequel - but is astonished by her professional ability.

"She's an unbelievably thought-provoking actress, the most talented actress I've ever met in my life, by leaps and bounds.

He added to America's GQ magazine: "I'd be watching the news, and they'd play my car crash, and every once in a while Kim Kardashian's sister would jump on TV and preach to me from the red carpet about how to live my f***ing life.

"And I'm so upset, man. I'm so angry. Because this accident was not caused by me. I got hit. I had a green. This f***er ran a red light. And he flipped my truck, and he shovelled it on my hand. And my fingers are in the street. they're off, they're under the truck door, man.

"This is fake, dude. This is hip bone and the skin that was left over."

She told People: "We've parted as friends. There's no anger, there's no upset, there's no enemies. It's been totally fine. It's really a testament to who he is and to who I am. We're both grown-ups.

"I want to be an independent woman who falls in love, finds a great partner for her lifetime, has kids and kind of does it all. I'd like to have it all."
